Param Gurudev

Founder Gurudev

Gurudev

Shrimat Narendranath Brahmachariji, the founder seer of Dev Sangha named the temple Mokshadham. It was the outcome of his transcendental vision.

In later years he had mentioned that the Mokshadham temple should be regarded as his embodiment even when he would not be there, and its principal deity Ma Haimavati whom he established in the sanctum sanctorum, as the manifestation of his soul. We find mention of Haimavati in Kenopanishad. She    manifested     herself    to    Shrimat

Sriamat Narendraanath
Brahmarshi Satyadev

Narendranath as the eight armed Mother empress, her body the hue of fire. The pair of lowest arms red, depicting the power of the creator Brahma, the next higher pair blue, embodying the power of the protector and nourisher Vishnu, the snowhite pair above manifesting the power of annihilator Maheswara. These three pairs of arms signify the control functions directing the cycle of birth, life and death followed by rebirth and so on of Jeeva- The individual soul(s) conditioned by Avidyamaya. These phases are dominated by the three gunas Satya, Rajas and Tamas and are ever subjected to ephemeral joys and sorrows. Above these three pairs is the ultimate transcendent pair of arms of the Devi - of the same colour (fiery) as her body, assuring freedom from fear and containment and the boon of liberation. These characterize the field beyond, free of subjugation by the three gunas. When Jeeva aspires unto and is blessed by Ma Haimavati, it achieves quintessential bliss and freedom from all limitation. Knowing her, Jeeva transcends birth and death. “ TAMEVA VIDITYA ATIMRITYUMETI NANYAH PANTHA VIDYATE AYANAYA”.

Shrimat Narendranathji, the cherished child of Haimavati has left with her his granted prayer, “He who worships the mother here with total devotion of heart and soul will achieve freedom and fulfilment without much ado.”

Ma Haimavati is flanked on her right by the image of Srimat Narendranath’s Gurudev, Brahmarshi Satyadev, the householder seer of Sadhan Samar fame, and on her left by the image of Indradev representing the enlightened Jeeva, symbol of Brahmachari Narendranathji himself.

As one stands facing Ma Haimavati, to the right one finds the temple of Shree Shree Parthasarathiji, right hand raised to throw the burning Sudarshan chakra to vanquish evil, the left holding the conch “Panchajanya” which he blows to hearken the good and strike terror in the heart of evil. His lotus eyes, fiery, mysterious and loving at the same time are such as will not be found in any image of Parthasarathi in any shrine in the land.

Beside Parthasarathiji stands Ma Durga Mahishamardini in miniature, exquisitely carved, resplendent in all her finery, her ten hands holding her ten weapons, her lion beneath her roaring at the embodied evil Mahishasura crushed under her left toe.

On the other side of Ma Haimavati’s temple stands the temple of Ma Annapurna who is ladling out food to Jagadeeshwara Mahadeva, with Shri Ganeshji their beloved son cool and coddled up at their feet. Brahma ‘Ekamevadwitiyam’, lone all without a second, desired frolic and became two, Annapurna the producer, controller and dispenser of variety, and Mahadeva the consumer, enjoyer and annihilator of variety. Thus the universe, its cycles and final consummation. Devotion to Ma Annapurna flanked by Jagadguru Mahadeva yields the fulfillment of all wholesome desires- the bounties of the world and the far greater and ultimate bounty of full freedom and union with God.

Not to be outdone, Lord Ganesha invariably restores lost belongings if earnestly worshipped with an offering of laddoos - even our lost selves, should we so aspire.
This Divine Family is flanked by Sadashiva seated in transcendental meditation.
